moviles baratos androidos telefonok HTC considerat

“The brand needs to act, and fast, in order to prove their worth in the fast paced industry that is the smartphone market. Marketing and advertising, as well as branding need re-evaluating in order to re-tempt churners and win new custom – which? is currently going to Samsung.”

Its ‘Smartphone, Mobile Internet eXperience’ (SMIX) tracker states that HTC’s consideration levels fell to 30 per cent in June, androidos telefonok, a drop from 42 per cent in June 2011.

It added that whilst HTC retain 34 per cent of its loyal customers, the majority (66 per cent) of its customers will not get a HTC handset again but will churn elsewhere, with Samsung being the smartphone of choice.

Each interview was conducted online and tracks consumer perception on handset and mobile operator usage, attitude and satisfaction; renewal; churn; operating systems and applications.

The quarterly SMIX study took place from June 1-6 with a total sample size of 3,sdk android,985 nationally representative British adults and 1,936 targeted smartphone owners.

HTC’s consideration and expectation levels amongst smartphone owners have fallen significantly in the past year, according to a new study from YouGov.

Russell Feldman, associate director in YouGov’s telecoms and technology team said:?“The latest SMIX findings are not surprising; HTC has long been falling out of the rat race. Our research also found a small number of HTC owners considered their make and model of HTC before purchasing it significantly lower consideration rates compared to rival brands a worrying sign.”

It added that HTC’s Desire and Wildfire ranges won consumers over and brought the brand to the smartphone market. However, since then, it has launched a plethora of handsets within the same range (Sensation, Sensation XE and Sensation XL), which many consumers struggle to differentiate between.

Quarterly YouGov study says manufacturer needs to reconsider its marketing strategy in order to win back consumers and compete with market leaders Samsung and Apple

YouGov said this has been a strategy that undermined it position and hampered the brand and now HTC has also decided to follow the same tactic with its new ‘One’ range (pictured).

It argued that Samsung has had an impressive year with innovative products and ranges within its Galaxy portfolio, which have proved popular among consumers. It said Samsung is now the Android future choice of destination with high loyalty, consideration and expectation rates increasing year-on-year.

Consequently, YouGov said Samsung has been able to take advantage of HTC’s losses, taking its mantle in the market and monopolising on its custom, tempting HTC customers to its brand.

In the same period, expectation levels for the company also fell, from 16 per cent to nine per cent.

YouGov said that HTC, which was once a key brand and a serious threat to Apple, needs to differentiate between handsets, and market accordingly.

Nokia says it is winning business from BlackBerry manufacturer Research In Motion (RIM) in the B2B market.

“We had heard from customers in the market that they were looking to move away from BlackBerry within their business and have seen that we have a very compelling offer which really helps to support that.

Williams said the increased awareness of Nokia’s Windows-powered devices and access to common office services such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Sharepoint and Office 365 are now making BlackBerry users think twice about switching manufacturers at the point of upgrade.

Samsung shipped 50.2 million phones in Q2, a 172.8 per cent increase from the 18.4 million smartphones it shipped in the same period last year. It’s market share almost doubled to 32.6 per cent in the quarter.

IDC senior research analyst Kevin Restivo said: “Samsung and Apple have quickly become the global smartphone heavyweights though both employ somewhat different approaches to the market.

“Smartphones are making up a higher and higher percentage of our mobile devices. Entering the smartphone manufacturers top five is an important milestone towards our target of becoming one of the top three mobile phone manufacturers in 2015.”

Manufacturers double combined market share over the past two years as ZTE becomes a top five smartphone manufacturer for the first time

Nokia held onto third place but shipments fell 38.9 per cent to 10.2 million units, whilst smartphone market share fell from 15.4 per cent to 6.6 per cent. HTC is fourth having seen shipments slip 24.1 per cent to 8.8 million in the quarter, with market share almost halving to 5.7 per cent.

Samsung and Apple have more than doubled their combined global market share over the past two years, creating more distance between themselves and their rivals. This is according to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker.

“We have moved into the middle to high-end smartphone market with the recent launch of the ZTE Grand X in countries including China, Turkey and the UK,sdk android, and will continue to build our handset capabilities in the middle and high range sectors, while still delivering great lower end smartphones like the ZTE Kis.

“Samsung employs a ‘shotgun’ strategy wherein many models are created that cover a wide range of market segments. Apple, in contrast, offers a small number of high-profile models.

“While both companies have expanded their geographic presence in pursuit of market share, the two companies will inevitably come into greater conflict as both try to generate additional gains.”
